2020 August Meadows Construction Bid Specs

 Reconstruct approximately 7,200 square yards of asphalt roadway pavement with 5” of final compacted depth of hot mix asphalt pavement

 Install offset staking prior to reconstruction to ensure proper alignment

 Machine pulverize existing asphalt pavement and blend with underlying
subbase/subgrade materials

 Machine mill transition joints at the reconstruction limits

 Provide a tanker truck to water the pulverized materials during grading and compaction operations

 Fine grade and compact the pulverized material with a 2% standard roadway crown

 Proof roll the pulverized material with a loaded dump truck under the supervision of the village representative

 Furnish and install (3.5” final compacted) depth MDOT 3C hot mix asphalt leveling course using PG 58-28 asphalt binder

 Machine apply SS1H bond coat to the leveling course at the rate of 0.10 gallons per square yard

 Furnish and install (1.5” final compacted) depth MDOT low volume superpave (LVSP) hot mix asphalt top course using PG 58-28 asphalt binder

 Cleanup any debris generated by construction activities

 Provide materials and construction methods that conform to the MDOT 2012 standard specifications for construction

 Provide quality control testing of asphalt in a MDOT certified laboratory and provide the results to the village representative

 Provide an onsite technician with a nuclear density gauge during paving operations to ensure that pavement density requirements are met

 Provide hot mix asphalt job mix formulas (JMF’s) to the village representative for review and approval prior to construction

 Provide hot mix asphalt mix designs and materials that meet MDOT requirements

 Provide asphalt material samples for independent testing by the village representative

 Provide a load ticket to the village representative for EVERY truckload of asphalt material generated from MDOT certified scales

 Provide cumulative asphalt tonnages on load tickets to ensure that the proper amount of asphalt tonnage is placed on the project

 Proposal is based on furnishing and installing 1,390 tons of MDOT3C hot mix leveling course

 Proposal is based on furnishing and installing 615 tons of MDOT LVSP hot mix asphalt top course

 Provide a (CREDIT) of $XXXX per ton for any tonnage underruns below the specified tonnage shown

 No additional charge for tonnage overruns above the specified tonnage shown

 All proposed pavement depths referenced are final, in place thickness after compaction
