Village May 2021 Minutes

May 12, 2021 

Present: Seamon, Birchmeier, Olk, Besaw, J. Maksimchuk, Usitishen Absent: Gauthier, K. Maksimchuk 

Meeting called to order by Mayor John Maksimchuk at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Olk, support by Besaw to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Olk, support by Besaw to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried. Gary Hope was present to ask about ditch work being done in front of his property. Police, DPW and Zoning reports are on file. Motion by Seamon, support by Besaw to repair the Village backhoe, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. Motion by Seamon, support by Besaw to adopt Resolution 2021-05 to participate in the Michigan Economic Development Ready Communities Program, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. Motion by Besaw, support by Olk to give the DDA permission to sidewalk project on Main street and fix drain in front of Larry Schnell’s property, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. VFW sign discussed, Council would like to see drawing of sign first before it is installed. Discussed complaints in Village Park, considering placing cameras there. Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw lease/purchase a new DPW truck with the DDA paying half of the cost, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
