Village November 2022 Minutes
November 9, 2022
Present: Maksimchuk, Tate, Birchmeier, Olk, Ustishen, Gauthier, McCormick
Absent: Seamon
Re-elected council members sworn in.
Meeting called to order by Attorney Matthew McKone at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Olk, support by Birchmeier to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Ustishen, support by Gauthier to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.
Public Comments – Problems with people hunting within the Village limits and how we can handle them, report them to the police if anyone sees person(s) hunting within the Village.
Police, DPW & Zoning Reports are on file. Officer Roach resigned due to health concerns. Motion by Olk, support by Ustishen to approve the hiring of another part-time police officer subject to his background ck and approval from Police Chief and Commissioner, roll call vote, Gauthier yes, Birchmeier yes, Usitishen yes, Olk yes, motion carried.
A culvert from the lagoon pond to the creek is in dire need of repair due to rust and corrosion. Pump has failed at the East Well #1
Newly elected Village Mayor, Charles McCormick sworn in after he arrived at 7:17 p.m.
Motion by Birchmeier, support by Olk to approve spending up to $19,000.00 to refurbish the well and replace the pump at the East well #1, per the discretion of the DPW Supervisor and the Water Commissioner discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Consensus of the Village Council is that they would like the Team to continue to pursue the grant for the Safe Routes for School.

Motion by Birchmeier, support by Olk to give health insurance for the new DPW employee, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Olk, second by Gauthier to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
