Village June 2023 Minutes

June 14, 2023

Present:  Maksimchuk,Tate, McCormic,Seamon, Gauthier, Olk, Ustishen, Mills

Absent:  Birchmeier

Meeting called to order by Mayor McCormic at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Motion by Gauthier support by Mills, to accept the minutes, motion carried.  Motion by Olk, support by Ustishen to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried. 

Police, DPW, Zoning & DDA reports on file.

DDA did approve to give the Police Department $16,500.00 for the Used Police Tahoe that was purchased from Genesee Parks Department.  Discussed planting of trees on Main Street is still a possibility.

School Contract discussed, Tabled until next month.

Saginaw Street Tree discussed as to trim the dead branches. DPW will get a quote to have dead branches trimmed.

Motion by Olk, support by Seamon to allow DDA to make Improvements/repairs to park benches and fountains, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Discussion in regards to speed limit signs and children at play signs for August Meadows, Street Superintendent isn’t in favor of placing additional signs in August Meadows. Discussed speeding cars going through Main Street.  Motion by Mills, support by Gauthier to purchase 2-3 signs for purchasing of speed limit/children playing signs for August Meadows, discussion, roll call vote, Seamon no, Mills yes, Gauthier no, Ustishen no, Olk no, McCormic yes, motion failed.

Confer History plaque at park property, Clerk will get pricing and get history from family.

Motion by Olk, support by Gauthier to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

DDA has designated $49,000.00 for Street Improvements.
