February Village 2025 Minutes

February 12, 2025 

Present: Tate, Maksimchuk’s, Olk, Ustishen, Besaw, Wolford, Birchmeier, Absent: Gauthier 

Meeting called to order by President Andy Wolford at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Ustishen, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried. Opened Public Hearing for Truth In Taxation at 7:03 p.m., Closed Public hearing at 7:04 p.m. Opened Public Hearing for Budgets 

at 7:05 p.m. closed public hearing at 7:06 p.m 

DPW, Police, Zoning and DDA reports are on file. The Police Chief would like to thank the VFW for their donation to the Department. Discussion in regards to camper parked on Village right a way, Police will notify them with copy of Ordinance. 

Motion by Ustishen, support by Birchmeier to set the Village Mills at 11, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, passed. 

Discussed a Variance request, will check with Zoning Administrator. 

Motion by Olk, support by Besaw to raise the Clerk’s wages $1,200.00 per year and the Deputy Clerk’s hourly rate from $13 per hour to $15 per hour, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. 

Motion by Olk, support by Besaw to roll the Impound and fines balance to new budget year, roll call, all yeas, motion carried. Motion by Olk, support by Besaw to give all the Police Officers a $2.00 per hour raise, discussion, Besaw withdrew his support, and Olk amended her motion with the support of Birchmeier to 

give all Police officers a $2.00 per hour raise and the Police Chief to get a $3.00 per hour raise effective March 1st, discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. 

Motion by Olk, support by Besaw to approve all budgets as discussed, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. 

Motion by Besaw, support by Birchmeier, to hire Jerry Angst as a Part-Time DPW employee at $20.00 per hour, discussion roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. 

Motion by Birchmeier, support by Besaw to lower the water consumption on water bills to 8,000 gallons and raise the ready to serve 2%, discussion, roll call vote, Maksimchuk no, Wolford no, rest yeas, motion carried. 

Motion by Besaw, support by Olk to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
