June Village 2024 Minutes
June 12, 2024
Present: Maksimchuk, Tate, Ustishen, Birchmeier, McCormic, Seamon, Olk
Absent: Gauthier, Mills
Meeting called to order by Mayor Charles McCormic with the Pledge of allegiance at 7:00 p.m. Motion by Olk, support by Ustishen to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Ustishen, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s Report, motion carried.
Dave Schnell asked Andy McKerney from McKerney Asphalt to explain the process of sealing cracks.
Tom from State Bank was present to discuss credit/debit card payments for water bills and how the system works for customer, and water clerk. Motion by McCormic, support by Olk to have State Bank/Heartland accept credit card payments for water bills. Discussion, roll call vote, 1 no vote, McCormic, rest yeas, motion carried.
Police, DPW, Zoning and DDA reports on file.
Motion by Birchmeier, support by Ustishen to accept the same agreement as last year with the Police Dept and School, discussion, roll call vote, Birchmeier no, Ustishen yes, Olk no, Seamon no, McCormic yes, motion failed.
DDA discussion of possible basketball courts on school property next to Village hall. DDA would also like to propose to have lines painted on Main Street every two years.
Safe Route Grant for the Village had their kick off meeting for the project.
Letter from Darrin Brooks read to council in regarding the number of cats in the village and would like council to consider an Ordinance to regulate the cat population or number of cats a homeowner may have. Consensus from council was to have Attorney draft an Ordinance for review.
Motion by Birchmeier, support by Olk to pay all the bills, Roll call vote all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by McCormic, support by Seamon to have the 4 percent convience fee added on to the credit card transactions for water bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion Carried.
