Village April 2019 Minutes

April 10, 2019

Maksimchuk’s, Seamon, L. Olk, P. Olk, Ustishen, Gauthier, S. Birchmeier, Tate (7:30)
Please note** There was not a March 2019 meeting due to lack of quorum.

Meeting was called to order by Mayor John Maksimchuk at 7:00
p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by L. Olk support by
Seamon to approve the minutes from February meeting, motion
carried. Motion by Seamon support by Gauthier to accept the
Special meeting minutes from April 4 th , motion carried. Motion by
L. Olk support by P. Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion
carried.
Public Comments – Carolyn Wilson, Shiawassee County Clerk
introduced herself to Council and passed out new County
directories. Butch Brancheau, Under Sheriff for Shiawassee
County was present to discuss new jail proposal. Dr. Anthony
Berthiaume, Superintendent of New Lothrop Area Schools was
present to discuss school bond proposal. Brad Hitchcock and
Larry Schnell was present to address concerns with his water bill
for his apartment building. Water commissioner is meeting with
Larry and will take care of it.
Police, DPW and Zoning Reports are on file.
Motion by P. Olk, support by L. Olk to accept the low bid and
award Instituform Technologies, LLC the sewer project,
discussion, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Street Commissioner, Carl Seamon informed council of a possible
Grant that he has applied for.

Motion by L. Olk, support by Birchmeier to pay all the bills, roll call
vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Declare meeting adjourned at 8:21 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE** A telephone/text vote was taken on April 23,
2019 in regards to DDA installing a vinyl fence at their expense on
the Village lot between the lot and Peterson’s Body Shop,
Consensus of all council members responding, (other than Street
Commissioner, Carl Seamon who did not respond) was yes.
