Village December 2015 Minutes

December 9, 2015

Present: Maksimchuk’s, Burns, Tate, Gauthier, Olk, Beauchamp,
Absent: Seamon, Wolford (arrived at 7:45)

Meeting called to order by Mayor Burns at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Gauthier to accept the minutes, motion carried. Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Olk to accept the Treasurer’s report, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.

Public Comments: Charles Yaklin was present to ask about lawn/yard repair from damage done by City Sewers as they are doing work for SAW grant.

Discussed closing of streets for Candle walk.

Police & DPW Reports on file. Police Chief discussed getting quotes for Tasers and replacing bullet proof vests. Also need for replacing batteries in radios. DPW Superintendent, Al Ayres stated the DEQ would like a minimum of 3 test wells drilled for the lagoon system. Discussed damage being done to 1891 plat map “alleys” which have never been used except for utility easements.

Vehicles are now being driven downs them and causing deep ruts. Will discuss next month when Street Commissioner will be present.

Council discussed properties obtained in August Meadows. Motion by Gauthier, support by Wolford to authorize the committee to list the properties with Jami Bruff, Real Estate Agent subject to the business listing agreeing to including an auction to be held by the Village if the properties don’t sell, roll call vote, Olk-abstain, rest yeas, motion carried.

Discussed hours by Police Secretary.

Village Council President approved a Credit Card for the Police Chief with a $1,000.00 limit.

Discussed fire hydrant damage done last August. Motion by Olk, support by Maksimchuk to authorize Village Attorney to file suit against Insurance Company to get back damages plus lawyer and court costs, motion carried.

Motion by Beachamp, support by Olk to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
