Village May 2016 Minutes
May 11, 2016
Present: Maksimchuk’s, Tate, Burns, Olk, Seamon, Beauchamp, Wolford, Gauthier (arrived at 7:15)
Meeting called to order by Mayor Jerry Burns at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Seamon support by Maksimchuk to accept the minutes, motion carried.
Motion by Olk support by Maksimchuk to accept the Treasurer’s report, motion carried.
Public Comments – Citizens present to discuss No Motor Vehicle Signs posted in undeveloped utility easement only alleys. Police Chief responded as it is a Traffic Control Order.
Marilyn Thiel was present to discuss “blight” issues and stated as they are zoned agriculture, they are exempt. Had pictures of other areas of blight within the Village.
Police, Zoning and DPW Reports on file.
Motion by Seamon, support by Olk to hire Glaser-Dawes to fix the storm sewer problem at the Al Glenn property with a cost estimate of $4,865.00, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Bridge dedications will take place during Memorial Day services. The Easton Road/Saginaw Street Bridge will be dedicated to long serving Council Member, George Thiel and the Easton Road Bridge will be dedicated to long time Village Employee, Norbert Emmendorfer.
Discussed progress of lots for sale in August Meadows, deed restrictions have turned some people away.
Fleis & Vanderbrink have started plans for Test wells at the Lagoons.
Weed Violation letters will be sent out this week.
Discussed Blight Ordinance and updating it, no interest from council members in changing it.
Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Wolford to pay all the bills including consumers, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
