Village October 2016 Minutes
October 12, 2016
Present: Maksimchuk’s, Beauchamp, Seamon, Gauthier, Olk, Tate, Wolford (7:05) Absent: Burns
Meeting called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem, John Maksimchuk at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion by Gauthier, support by Olk to accept the minutes, motion carried.
Motion by Seamon, support by Beauchamp to accept the Treasurer’s Report, motion carried.
Public Comments: Brian Begole introduced himself to the Village Council as a candidate running for the Office of Shiawassee County Sheriff.
Police and DPW Reports on file.
Discussed both families of Bridge honorees will be placing larger signs at the bridges at their own expense. The Village has spent $800.00 for the Bronze plagues that are placed on the bridges.
Audit Report given. Motion by Olk, support by Seamon to accept the audit, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Motion by Gauthier, support by Olk to pay the Interim Zoning Administrator/Enforcer from July through October at the rate of the past zoning administrator of $201.66 per month, roll call vote, Beauchamp, abstain, rest yeas, motion carried. At this time, council would like to table the hiring of the zoning administrator.
Motion by Beauchamp, support by Olk to name the Water Treatment plant after long term council member, Larry Collins. Collins was instrumental in the development of the water treatment plant, motion carried.
Motion by Maksimchuk, support by Wolford to amend the sewer budget $9,140.17 from fund balance, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried. Amendment is due to work done by Fleis and Vanderbrink as required by the DEQ for test wells at lagoons.
Motion by Wolford, support by Olk to pay all the bills, roll call vote, all yeas, motion carried.
Council Member Brian Beauchamp, thanked the Council and Police Chief Allen for the opportunity to serve on Council. Beauchamp has chosen not to re-run at this election.
